xAI has announced the launch of The X Subscription, a unified subscription — the integration plan that had been talked about for a month or two and was finally unveiled today, bundling Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium into one plan.
xAI has fully connected the workflow from everyday conversation and content creation to coding.
As a result, subscribers can share Grok model usage between Grok and Cursor.
For those who code a lot, the quota for the in-house model Code included in the new plans has increased to more than double that of previous Cursor plans at the same tier. If you need to call third-party models in Cursor, Premium and higher tiers still support top-ups at the official API price.
The specific plans and pricing are as follows:
- Free: $0, includes basic everyday Grok access, entry-level Cursor coding agent quota, and standard X
- Plus: $8/month, higher AI quota, plus the X verification badge, creator tools, and fewer ads
- Premium: $30/month, includes 4× the Plus quota, consolidating SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, which previously totaled $90
- Super: $100/month, includes 15× the Plus quota
- Ultra: $200/month, includes 50× the Plus quota
Team plans are priced the same per person as the individual plans — also $30, $100, or $200 per month. Compared with the older Cursor Teams, it's not only cheaper, but also offers 3× the coding quota, along with admin features such as SSO, unified billing, and SOC 2 certification.
Handling of existing subscriptions is very flexible, and there is currently no forced upgrade requirement. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor, or X members can continue using their current plans at their original prices. If you choose to switch to the new subscription, the remaining value of your original plan is refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Needless to say, of course you switch to the new subscription. Just go to https://cursor.com/unify — there's a 4-step guide: link the other three products, then select the new subscription you want to switch to.
There are currently discounts for switching to the new subscription: Plus gets 25% off for six months, and higher tiers get 50% off for one month.
But if you're a heavy Cursor user yourself, be "cautious" when switching subscriptions. With the new subscription after switching, no matter the tier, Cursor "includes no free quota for any third-party models" — everything is topped up and used at the corresponding official API price.
